The naked human is challenged. It would be safer reflecting alone than confronting you. And even the favorite dictum of reflective psychology — a psychology which has consciousness rather than love as its main goal — ‘Know thyself’’ will be insufficient for a creative psychology. Not ‘Know thyself’ through reflection, but ‘Reveal thyself’, which is the same as naked human, is challenged. It would be safer reflecting alone than confronting you. And even the favorite dictum of reflective psychology — a psychology which has consciousness rather than love as its main goal — ‘Know thyself’’ will be insufficient for a creative psychology. Not ‘Know thyself’ through reflection, but ‘Reveal thyself’, which is the same as the commandment to love, since nowhere are we more revealed than in our loving’. — James Hillman

After many painful lifetimes caught in the dream — or rather the nightmare — of separation, each human, driven and guided by its intelligence, has a threshold of pain from which they seek relief by use of their intelligence.

They then discover the three lies we were taught: we are separate from our Creator, our Earth and each other. As these are replaced with three truths — that we are one with our Creator, one with our planet and one with each other — our awakening quickens.

We are at that quickening now. We are at both a turning point and a tipping point. As only 1% or a fraction thereof comes into this coherence, we are creating a Quantum Awakening — and we awaken to the Reality of Love not fear. Each can claim this awakening individually and we are very close to creating for all through this Quantum Awakening. — Robert Roskind

The illusory world we have created is unlivable by us or any other life form. Therein lies the pain, the pain that will kill us or wake us up. There is a general alarm going up around the globe just now because humans can’t see a quick and easy way out of their self created dilemma. The edifices of civilization will collapse — we can see that — if we can’t get back to the so-called normal life. What we fail to see is that the normal life we are so attached to and proud of will kill us even quicker.

The thing we refuse to see? It’s the simple but unacceptable fact that we are part of the creative matrix, not the lord and master of it. For some reason that idea is anathema to the human animal. The gods must be laughing.

One hopes they laugh kindly. Humans are suffering. Their affliction comes down to a deficiency of love and intelligence. If pain is the only thing that will precipitate enlightenment, then this pandemic is exactly what the doctor ordered. I’m afraid the pain is just starting though, and the lessons will take longer than they should.

For the human race to take notice of suffering it has to become personal, it seems. As long as we’re ok with the suffering of other people, we haven’t even begun our journey toward satori.

All of us who belong to this species have been given our command — go forth and love. Let go of your identity, your possessions and belief systems. Just love. Use your intelligence to see connections and meanings that may pass you by if you weren’t alert.

Hillman elevates love over consciousness, but they may be coequal imperatives. In any case, we can’t do without either one.

The next few years are going to be difficult. We are learning via the most painful but reliable method, personal suffering. If we draw the right lessons we’ll create an earthly paradise.
