When you are who you are, when you are just precisely yourself, you are your “point.” Just that. This has nothing to do with any qualities, functions, capacities, and skills you may have. It has nothing to do with your status in the world, and nothing to do with living this life in a body or not in a body. It is your nature. The Pearl Beyond Price is a connection between this genuine center and all capacities, skills, and understanding that are a part of your growth as a human being. It allows your capacities, functions and accomplishments to develop in a genuine way as an outgrowth of your spontaneous unfoldment. It is the result of living in the moment, living in a way that is true to who you are. This is your genuine personal life, your development, your own growth. The Pearl is the actualized individuation of your Soul.
A. H. Almaas, Diamond Heart Book Three
There are a multitude of versions of Earth experiences . We chose the ones we prefer according to our frequency. We can see others’ versions, almost like from behind a glass wall, but we only live, more and more, the ones we align with. Ultimately, we experience nothing else. — Robert Roskind
won’t you celebrate with me
what i have shaped into
a kind of life? i had no model.
born in babylon
both nonwhite and woman
what did i see to be except myself?
i made it up
here on this bridge between
starshine and clay,
my one hand holding tight
my other hand; come celebrate
with me that everyday
something has tried to kill me
and has failed. — Lucille Clifton
Humans are the only animal that can live a fake life and a fake self. Often we are conditioned to show the world an ersatz construct. We can lose touch with who we are and live our whole life that way. Cultural or family pressures can bend us into unnatural shapes as children and even when we grow up we fail to find our natural form. We live our lives “at some distance from ourselves” because we don’t do the work of questioning our roots.
Healing from these distortions is a spiritual endeavor. It involves stepping away from a culture that has conditioned you since birth. It involves a consciousness that observes without judging and suppressing. Letting go of definitions and categories, ceasing to mold yourself according to preconceived ideas, letting the conditioned self be and be observed is essential to this work.
Seeing clearly without controlling allows the natural self to emerge. Your vibration ramps up. Accepting yourself with respect and kindness promotes your energies of kindness as you go forth in the world. As you treat yourself, so will you treat the world.
Suffering is the norm now. We war with ourselves daily. Our being is fragmented. We project our inner state into the world, making it dysfunctional and superficial. Rearranging externals won’t solve this problem, regardless of any system we may try. Inner reality always wins out. We have to start closer to home. We have to look into the mirror.
Since we have a global time-out at the moment, now is the perfect time to re-examine our way of living on this earth. Staying busy is one way of avoiding the truth of what we are. Our good fortune is that busy-ness is less possible for a while. Looking our self in the face is terrifying for a lot of us. We can’t imagine being deprived of our distractions. I’m sure you’ve noticed how vehemently people are insisting upon their right to visit bars, restaurants, beaches and churches, refusing to consider the possibility it could be dangerous. Solitude is frightening because the inner world is frightening.
Courage is needed to face ourselves. The times are calling for the courage to find and face our true selves.
