The older you get the more essential it is to exercise your body and create from your soul. I can attest to the fact that our physical circumstance will change, that bodies age. I can’t help but see life differently at eighty than I did as a youngster of fifty, but something eternal enters your consciousness at a certain point. Your perspective becomes less personal, more aware of the beautiful web of life we all belong to, more able to speak from that perspective, more able to assume the mantle of elder. We belong to a culture that doesn’t encourage elder-hood. If you grow your roots to any depth you have become a cultural catalyst and healer. Sometimes that takes a long time.
