From Tarama Wesley

As God is the ground of all being, so God is the ground of the “eachness” of things, the uniqueness and particularity of the things of the world. As with God’s “being,” so God is One in a verbal sense ‒ God is the active source of the individuality of things. God “unifies,” makes each being unique, makes each of us who we are ‒ makes each of us able to say “I.”

PRAYING

It doesn’t have to be
the blue iris, it could be
weeds in a vacant lot, or a few
small stones; just
pay attention, then patch

a few words together and don’t try
to make them elaborate, this isn’t
a contest but the doorway

into thanks, and a silence in which
another voice may speak.

~ Mary Oliver

“I never saw a wild thing sorry
for itself.

A small bird will drop frozen dead
from a bough without ever having
felt sorry for itself.”

“We’ve got to live, no matter how
many skies have fallen.”
