We have become the impatient species, too busy to let nature replenish itself and too puffed up with our own importance to acknowledge our utter dependence on its generosity.

In a world unraveling, climate spiraling, systems failing, ideologies hardening like old scars, we’re often told that survival is the goal. Stockpile. Strategize. Build your brand. Secure your perimeter.

But Orwell reminds us: it’s not just about staying alive.

It’s about staying human.

And in this moment, that might be the more difficult and radical act.

In ancient times, betrayal wasn’t just a moral failing, it was a soul fracture. A disruption of the web that holds us all. And today, betrayal looks like abandoning the collective to protect the self.

It looks like spiritual bypassing when what’s called for is grounded action. It looks like using language of light while participating in systems of harm. It looks like silence when the world needs your courage.

Because at the end of it all, it won’t be your followers, funnels, or frequency that matter.

It will be who you showed up for when the world burned.
