As a society, we should make a massive transfer of resources into the lives of children ten years old and younger. 90 per cent of the brain is developed in the first five years of life.
As it is, we have children traumatized before preschool. I have met elementary school principles who said they have students on suicide watch.
Children aren’t old enough to vote so they don’t represent a voting block, and they’re not old enough to work so they have no financial leverage. They’re the biggest collateral damage of a system ruled by economic rather than humanitarian values.
