No one thing is going to change this picture because it’s so engrained in our culture, especially American culture. I grew up in Texas where you were ridiculed if you didn’t play football and where the fast-draw cowboy is revered. From movies to school to work life to family life the male stoic ideal is the model to imitate. How we change that probably means a combination of systemic and psychological approaches.
