Once love matures, it becomes ecological. The sufferings of animals and strangers are no longer irrelevant. One can now feel one’s connection to the whole. As one reads about war, one no longer focuses on the manufactured grievances being used as excuses. Instead, one’s head is filled with images of terrified people huddling in the rubble as death rains from the sky.

Universal love looks at life from every angle.

As much as personal love is praised in this culture, just as much is universal love hated. The love of those who see
