Evil Monsters rage around us. And so, we began to wonder… do these loathsome Monsters also live within us? Through an evening in psychedelic space, my beloved Tricia Bowler and I found joy and meaning, in tending and befriending the Monsters within.
How does a Sociopathic Dictator live in me? With somatic practice, and loving inquiry, I could discern it. A part of me is contemptuous, greedy, devoid of kindness. Reckless of rules, scornful of Others, this Monster grabs for what it wants…
I don’t imagine that caring for the Inner Monster will become a popular thing, like caring for the Inner Child — LOL. But it feels sweet, for us. By making space for all of who we are — from the deeply good, irrepressible miracle of us, through these Loathsome Monsters, in all their villainy — we can better embody the full-spectrum of our power, for the sake of what we value….
