The old-paradigm fear-based world is collapsing while a new-paradigm love-based world is rising. The collapse is getting much media attention while the rise is getting only a little on alternative outlets.

SACRED ACTIVISM — A few but growing number are recognizing the coming age is emerging and is under the Divine guidance and are asking Spirit — in whatever way they may see Spirit — to use them as an instrument — a midwife — of this coming birth. As they do this, their own lives become more mystical and protected.

They are recognizing that we are each only responsible for one/seventh-billionth of the task-at-hand and our entire lives — with all it’s successes and failures, pains and joys, “mistakes” and accomplishments — has prepared us to heal and bless our individual life paths with love, forgiveness and compassion. This viewpoint is the only sane refuge as this global transformation births into a reality. It is the only one that I know of that offers any peace of mind. — Robert Roskind

“There is, after all, something eternal that lies beyond the hand of fate and of all human delusions, and such eternals lie closer to an older person than to a younger one oscillating between fear and hope. For us, there remains the privilege of experiencing beauty and truth in their purest forms. But is it a cruel paradox or a heartening comfort that the closer we inch to death, the fuller of life’s beauty and truth we become?” — Einstein

The world we’re used to is dying. It refuses to go back into its old skin. It’s going to mutate into a new form via imaginal cells. Clinging to the old ways will not bring them back. The most useful people will be those who can envision a world in which humans work with rather than against the energies of Creation. That new cooperation is not new to indiginous peoples the world over.

Any tribe of humans who has survived over ten thousand years understands things we don’t. They have a spiritual depth we don’t. They can move in harmony with the creative forces of nature. They don’t have to destroy nature in order to live.

Our lack of respect for inter-relationships throughout the natural world and our inability to refrain from exploiting nature for money puts us at great risk. Our vision of the sacred forces in the universe is a childish story we tell ourselves that justifies our cupidity and need for a simpleminded formula for our depredations. Suddenly that superstructure has collapsed and we have to reexamine our foundations. Some people are frightened while others are hopeful we can rectify our approach to living on our planet. What we think, believe and do has brought nature itself to a breaking point.

Large numbers of humans are dying because our beliefs and practices are so ignorant and shortsighted, so self centered and cruel, so deracinated.

How many times will the lesson we’re currently learning have to be repeated? Widespread death is an attention-getter, but humans learn slowly. The future looks to be full of copious chills and spills.

I’m encouraged by the quality of writing now showing up. The news is full of catastrophic details — that sells — but there are people of spiritual depth working for a better world. They exist and they’re energetic and creative, they’re just not as visible because they don’t sell copy. Few journals want to feature them.

Our foundations will change. Our vision of who we are and what’s important to us will change. The world has been asking politely for us to change, but now an emphatic note enters the conversation. Change or die, your choice.

It will be interesting to see what happens from here.
