Medium is having problems paying their writers so a lot of them are leaving Medium and moving elsewhere. I’m planning to keep posting on Medium until they fold, if they do. I like the easiness of commenting on Medium, which is superior to Substack, but I do need a stable platform where I can get paid to write. My writing seems to need a long runway before it’s noticed, so I’m getting started now on Substack. It took several years before it got any traction here on Medium.

I live on social security and what little I make writing makes a difference. With Trump threatening SS it’s something I have to think about.

I post the same articles on both platforms, first on Substack and then on Medium the next day. Unless you want to comment it’s the same. So far, there’s no community of commenters on my work on Substack, but I’m expecting it to develop.

If Medium does suddenly disappear, I’ll be on Substack. If it doesn’t I’ll keep posting here because there’s a group of readers making intelligent comments and cross comments that contribute a lot to what I offer.
