I’ve spent most of my adult life outside the US, in France, Italy and Mexico, although I grew up in Texas. As an 84 year old I’m too maladapted to my native country to live there now. I will say, though, it wasn’t easy in the beginning. Learning another culture and language is work. Paris wasn’t particularly accommodating in the 60’s. I’m not sure I would want to face that learning curve at my age now.
