It’s interesting to me that anyone can write about something they don’t really care about. How did you learn to do that, school? I’ve sometimes wished I could do that, because that seems to be where the money is. Your piece makes me ask myself what motivates me to write. I have to say that I like language, the sound of it and the way it’s put together to create both meaning and a flow of sounds in my mind’s ear.

And then ideas and how they connect and stimulate each other. It’s really engaging, once you start, and it seems to have a natural flow, like a song or a poem. It’s an aesthetic exercise but it’s also philosophical and even a spiritual experience sometimes.

What do you think?
