God’s Breath

Alexandre JACOB (1876–1972 “ Early Morning”

The capacity of waking up, of being aware of what is going on in your feelings, in your body, in your perceptions, in the world, is called buddha nature, the capacity of understanding and loving.

~Thich Nhat Hanh

“You, God, who live next door —

If at times, through the long night, I trouble you
with my urgent knocking —
this is why: I hear you breathe so seldom.

I know you’re all alone in that room.
If you should be thirsty, there’s no one
to get you a glass of water.
I wait listening, always. Just give me a sign!

I’m right here…”

~Rilke

All beings have Buddha Nature….”From the beginning, all beings are Buddha…..From the beginning, not a thing is….and so the Zen drops of wisdom go. The beat on the mind is like a dripping faucet, each splash getting louder and louder until they become hammer blows. Finally, you crack open.

The Zen hammer does not come from the outside of the shell but from the inside. The Buddha you swallowed will not stop growing.
