I’m male, and I’ve seen up-close the disrespectful culture you’re talking about. I married at age 45 a young woman a little younger, with three children and two abusive marriages behind her, who looked like a movie star. I had no idea of her history of undermining and straight-up abuse she had endured. I’m not sure she’ll ever completely heal.

A person like this needs acceptance of who they really are so they can finally discover and live it.
