I will never achieve your view of “America through foreign eyes” since I was raised in the Texas countryside of the 40’s and 50’s. On the other hand, I have lived in L.A. and NY and what you describe is familiar. I’ve also lived in European cities — London, Paris, Venice — and others, and I just have to say you are overlooking the human misery that lives behind even the most manicured lawns and imposing façades.

The American circus you are so entertained by is killing the spirit, soul and bodies of unsuspecting Americans all across the land. Enjoy it while you can.
