God’s Disguises
Last night I dreamed I was shopping at Walmart, when I heard my name being called over the loudspeaker. This made me instantly paranoid because I was an undercover agent for the FBI and I feared someone was trying to lure me into the parking lot for nefarious reasons. Naturally I ran to the back of the store where the animals were kept (this Walmart evidently sold monkeys and birds). I tried to hide among the animals, but a parrot noticed me and asked me a question. He asked, “what is the meaning of life?” It didn’t really surprise me that a bird was asking me a philosophical question. However, I was surprised when the monkey chimed in and told the parrot that as long as they were in cages life had no meaning. This made me sad, but I was still concerned about the people waiting for me in the parking lot. The parrot begged me to open the cage so I did, and he quickly flew into my shoulder. I couldn’t leave the monkey behind so I opened his cage too, and we were all going to make a grand escape out through the back door, but the monkey pulled his cage door shut again and told me he had Stockholm syndrome so he was going to stay behind…

We’re all God in disguise. Jesus found that out and they crucified him for saying so.
