Martin Luther King Jr. In this way, we are both aware of the darkness and the star and that between them is the heart’s longing and the soul’s awakening. If you are in darkness, you have to open your eyes to see the light and to know it is yours, and to be willing to do the work of letting your self be infused with that light.

Art … is a way to heal trauma and heartache. It is a way to take the raw stuff of grief, fear, despair, anger, powerlessness, and sorrow, and transmute them into something that is beyond ourselves, something that points to the indomitable human spirit and the fact that our lives are part of Indra’s web reflecting every facet of the universe.
