One test for the validity of any religious teaching is whether it sets us free or binds us to itself.

When religion consists of rules to be mindlessly followed, it is but a stained glass prison.

When religion forbids honest doubt, it is but a sanctified lobotomy.

We cannot know if any teacher is wise unless we, ourselves, have the same wisdom within ourselves.

True teachers do not seek to quench our honest curiosity, but inflame our hearts and minds to even fiercer blazing.
