From Artly Snuff

Despite America’s claims of being the most prosperous country full of possibilities and freedom, I was left feeling embittered, exhausted, and hugely disappointed.

All I found in America was hustling consumerism and obsession with technology wrapped up with loneliness.

I couldn’t find in America any deeper human values, communities, or friendships…

Every morning when I open my computer, another mass shooting happened somewhere in the US, in places that should be safe for the average citizen. That’s freedom?

People have been tired for so long, now that they’re tired of being tired. They no longer want to think where they are not obliged to. They no longer want to believe anything that’s not immediately right under their eyes. You will not think of anything that others are not thinking. You won’t know any word that others can’t say. You will do as others do. You will feel the danger of any difference. You won’t settle for who you are. They’ll tell you you’re happy.

John Steinbeck

… I believe it’s a mistake to think of stories with a redemptive quality as unrealistic, because their function is not to reflect ‘real life,’ but rather to rescue the events of our lives from randomness
