At an age when you’re building your identity of being special it may be confusing to find yourself with a lot of other people with the same concerns, but the life of a creative artist has to be based on love of the process, not identity. School has a way of killing that pure interest by measuring and grading it to death. It’s hard for a young person to take all that “expert” assessment with a grain of salt. Some creative people are injured by that system. They need to rely more on their own inner compass and what it loves. They need to evolve on their own, motivated by instinct and love of the practice.
