From ‘Dark Side’

After the middle of life…permanent loss of the anima means a diminution of vitality, of flexibility, and of human kindness.

The result, as a rule, is premature rigidity, crustiness, stereotypy, fanatical one-sidedness, obstinacy, pedantry, or else resignation, weariness, sloppiness, irresponsibility, and finally a childish ramollissement with a tendency to alcohol.

After middle life, therefore, the connection with the archetypal sphere of experience should if possible be re-established.

~Carl Jung

Each person born, in some unique way, participates in the genius of life and the world at this time is in great need of an awakening of the genius qualities hidden in each of us. Rather than a heroic journey undertaken by a select few, the genius myth imagines that everyone, by virtue of bearing some genius qualities, is subject to a genuine calling in life.

— Michael Meade

Art pulls the human spirit toward wholeness. Art can be shamanic, healing. Almost all art can do this, even comedy. I know that creating art was always a healing practice for me and I hope it has that effect on anyone who sees it. It’s no different for any kind of art, although I’m not the slightest interested in horror. The last thing I want to do is drop some evil…
