The death of human empathy is one of the earliest and most telling signs of a culture about to fall into barbarism

~ Hannah Arendt

America is no place for an artist: to be an artist is to be a moral leper, an economic misfit, a social liability. A corn-fed hog enjoys a better life than a creative writer, painter or musician. To be a rabbit is better still.

~ Henry Miller

We are ALWAYS manifesting. Whether we like it or not.

Voices From The Other World (Fragments)

Like a large-lidded page out of El Greco, pulled

Back the arras for that next voice,

Cold and portentous: ALL IS LOST.

FLEE THIS HOUSE. OTTO VON THURN UND TAXIS.

OBEY. YOU HAVE NO CHOICE.

…Last night the teacup shattered in a rage.

Indeed, we have grown nonchalant

Towards the other world. In the gloom here,

our elbows on the cleared

Table, we talk and smoke, pleased to be stirred
