A Long, Long Long Time Ago
Kingsley describes how both Tibetan lamas and Vatican priests, in their respective centers of power, were upset to discover that this ancient spiritual lineage from Asia predated their own. The church then distanced itself from the Greeks, establishing Latin as the only holy language for its liturgies. But the Tibetans took the further step of absorbing and adopting the tradition of reborn shamans — now a tradition of reborn lamas!

I was cleaning out the Prius with my four year old grandson, when he said grandma, a long, long, long time ago I was a baby and, I was at Mika’s wedding.
Holding the trash bag I looked across the back seat of the car at him. Mika is his seven year old sister.
Mika got married?
Yes, he said, a long, long long time ago.
It took me a moment to adjust to the conversation.
Oh, like not in this life?
In my other life, he said. The wedding was so beautiful, Mika was SO beautiful….
And Mika asked — why does he talk about a long, long, long time ago? He’s only four years old, it doesn’t make sense.
You used to remember the time before this life, I said, when you were three years old you had those memories.
